TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee firefighters respond to two fires within 24 hours.
The first happened just before 2 a.m. Thursday at a two-story home between Park Avenue and East Call Street.
Fire officials say there was one person inside who escaped from the fire and was taken to a local hospital.
One pet died.
The fire started on the stove and caused $75,000 worth of damage.
The second fire happened at a home on the city's westside around3 p.m.
Firefighters were called to the 5600 block of Aenon Lane.
Fire officials say the fire was contained to one room.
No injuries are reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
