TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Friday evening, the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to two structure fires that occurred less than an hour apart.
TFD said at 5:34 p.m., they were dispatched to a fire at 410 Victory Garden Drive. The fire occurred on the third story of the apartment complex, but was put out within five minutes.
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Then at 6:27 p.m., TFD said they were dispatched to a house fire at 705 Gladiola Terrace. When crew arrived on the scene, they found heavy smoke and fire in the utility room.
TFD said due to a down power line blocking entry, the fire had to be attacked from the roof of the home. One resident was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.
No other injuries were reported.
At both fires, TFD was helped on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department, Tallahassee Utilities, Leon County EMS, and the Red Cross.
