TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department says a lava lamp probably caused a fire that damaged a two-story apartment complex at 1892 Honolulu Lane and killed two pets.
TFD received a call about the fire at 3:47 p.m. Sunday.
Firefighters discovered smoke coming from a second-story apartment, where they say they believe a lava lamp fell on a mattress in a bedroom.
No one was inside the apartment, and no people were injured as TFD extinguished the fire.
Damages are estimated to be at $29,000.
