TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) - The city of Tallahassee's fire department is kicking off fire prevention week tomorrow.
It's part of their "Where's the Beep Campaign" to educate people about the importance of smoke alarms and how to properly care for them. The fire department is joining with the Florida state fire marshal and the American Red Cross for an event tomorrow at 11 am at the Apalachee ridge technology learning center.
According to TFD, that's one of the areas where they see the most fires. The event will include a simulation for Rickards high school students. They'll be asked to come up with an exit strategy to safely leave a smoke-filled home.
