Texting and driving legislation moves forward

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Legislation that would make texting while driving a primary" traffic offense continues to move forward in the Florida Legislature.

On Thursday the Judiciary Committee became the second House panel to approve the bill, which would allow police to stop drivers simply for texting behind the wheel.

At least 39-other states make texting while driving a primary traffic offense.
