JEFFERSON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - An 81-year-old man from Texas was killed in an accident Tuesday on U.S. 19 near State Road 8, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP says that just after noon, 81-year-old Donald Paul Hemingway, from Katy, Texas, was driving his Ford sedan westbound on the westbound exit ramp of State road 8 towards U.S. 18.
Donald T. Bigelow, 67, was driving northbound on the outside lane of U.S. 19, according to FHP.
FHP says that Hemingway failed to stop at a stop sign. That's when, according to the crash report, his car hit the front right side of Bigelow's Chevrolet pickup truck.
According to FHP, the accident happened around 12:35pm.
Jefferson EMS responded and brought Hemingway to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where died from his injuries, according to FHP. FHP also says that Hemingway's passenger, Edna Carter Hemingway, 76, and was also brought to TMH with serious injuries. Bigelow went to TMH with minor serious injuries.
