An Tennessee man was arrested early Tuesday morning for carrying a pistol, and authorities say it wasn't in his pocket.
Jesse O'Neal Roberts, 23, from Elkmont, was arrested on several charges Tuesday and is being held in the Limestone County Jail.
A homeowner on Esten Lane found Roberts hanging around his garage shortly after midnight and held him at gunpoint until Limestone County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived. Deputies said Roberts appeared to be intoxicated, and they found a truck in a nearby ditch with his wallet inside.
Deputies placed him under arrest for public intoxication and took him to the Limestone County Jail.
After arriving at the jail, corrections officers said Roberts appeared to be walking strangely. During a search, they said Roberts stumbled and a pistol "fell from his body cavity."
"I immediately considered that he defecated on himself before noticing a familiar shape in the form of a pistol in his boxers," the corrections officer stated in a report.
The .380-caliber pistol, which authorities said was not loaded, had been reported stolen from Florence, according to the sheriff's office.
Roberts was charged with public intoxication, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, first-degree promoting prison contraband and fourth-degree receiving stolen property.
His bond was set at $7,250.
