TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Teens in the Capital City are working to make holiday wishes come true for children in need, one shopping cart at a time.
Friday, volunteers from the Tallahassee Teen Leadership Council got registers ringing at the Wal-Mart on Thomasville Road.
Each Teen was given a $100 dollar shopping budget to carefully select gifts for less fortunate children in the region.
The children's Christmas lists included things they needed, like clothes, as well as a few items they wanted, like bicycles and music players.
While shopping, a few of the teens commented on how stressful it was not only to buy the items on the list, but also to stay on budget.
This shopping trip helped open the eyes of the teens and make them feel grateful for what they have. Some of the teens have participated in this for years because they love the feeling of giving back and helping raise the spirits of local children who are less fortunate.
This is the fourth annual shopping trip with the Teen Leadership Council. Today's total bill...close to $2000, all of which was fundraised by the the leadership council.
