THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Three Thomas County teens were arrested on felony animal cruelty charges after killing more than 400 of baby chicks.
The Thomas County Sheriff's Office confirmed that they responded to a chicken farm off of Eddings Road on Saturday.
They say the farmer called them after he discovered that three 16-year-olds had killed 418 chicks. Deputies say they killed some of the chicks by chopping their heads off.
The teens were supposed to be helping on the farm.
Deputies say the three teens were charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and have been released back to their parents.
