COOK COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL)--A teenager is dead after a car accident in Cook County.

On Sunday around 6:15 p.m., a Ford Mustang was headed north on Roundtree McCranie Road. The Georgia Department of Public Safety says the driver lost control of the car around a curve.

The Mustang then ran off the road, hit a ditch, and rolled over.

The department says the passenger in the back of the car, 15-year-old Gage Raper, was killed after being thrown from the vehicle

Officials say the driver, 18-year-old Dequavus Devonta Jackson, was injured and taken to Cook Medical Center.

A passenger in the front seat was also hurt, and taken to the hospital.

Charges are pending the outcome of a Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team investigation.
