Follow these tips from family therapist Jane Marks:
1. Parents, you must always lead by example.
2. Brainstorm ideas with your teens.
3. Think outside the box.
4. Set a timeline.
5. Be yourself.
6. Do one thing that absolutely scares you.
7. Put language on your feelings and get a voice.
8. Find other areas that you want to change.
9. Just do it.
