TALLAHASSEE Fla.-- A woman was rescued from a sinking car after a man, who Deputies say was unfamiliar with the area, drove a car right off of a boat ramp and into Lake Talquin.

That man and two others in the car drowned over the weekend.

At 1 A.M. on Sunday May 15, 15 year-old Noah Williams, who happened to be hanging out on the lake, sprang into action and tried to save passengers who had exited the vehicle and were standing on the roof of the sinking car.

He was able to rescue Takara Holmes, William's grandfather Bobby Darnell helped pull the two back to shore.

Williams regrets that he was not able to save everyone in the car, but says he's no hero, and that anyone would have done what he and his family did.

Holmes was taken to the hospital for evaluation, but is doing well.

The driver Larry Hall, along with Deon Wood Junior and M'bres Petty all drowned.

Boaters in the area agreed that there is not enough signage and lights to alert the average driver to the boat ramp.

Boater Chris Whitis said, "I knew exactly where it is because I come here all the time, but it had to be someone that was unfamiliar with the road to drive right into the lake. I think the county does a good job indicating where the ramps are but like I said, they could enhance the lighting around the signs."

Autopsies have been completed for the victims involved but The Leon County Sheriff's Office is still investigating this incident.

Commissioner Bill Proctor issued a statement, in regards to the tragic drowning deaths that occurred at Coe Landing, in which he called for an immeadiate review of the safety precaution measures around the county maintained public boat landing.

In his statement Proctor acknowledges the county commission's recent vote to spend $125,000 per year over the next five years, to enhance public landings.

Proctor stated, "I can personally say that there is no signage of a lake or anything to alert a driver that there is water ahead.  There are no reflectors and only two overhead lights next to the water.  There are no speed bumps and nothing that tells a driver to slow down. I am Asking that this situation be addressed immediately and that a plan of action be put in place. "
