JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A 14-year-old Jacksonville boy has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge in his mother's fatal stabbing.

The teen entered his plea before a Duval County judge Tuesday morning. He is being charged as an adult and faces a possible life sentence.

The Florida Times-Union (http://goo.gl/tIWXx5 ) reports that 52-year-old Pamela Ann Daughtry was found stabbed to death in her home last month. Authorities say her son took her car and was later found in Sunny Isles Beach, just north of Miami. The teen is also facing a grand theft auto charge, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
