LARGO, Fla. (AP) — A Tampa Bay area teenager has been convicted of fatally stabbing an apparent stranger.

The 17-year-old old boy pleaded guilty in Pinellas County court Tuesday to first-degree murder and other unrelated charges. He faces a possible life sentence at a March 10 hearing.

Authorities say 22-year-old Jason Paul was riding his bike home from work in January 2013. As he rode near Crest Lake Park in Clearwater, the teen attacked Paul and repeatedly stabbed him. The teen later told police he was angry and decided to kill the next person he saw.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://goo.gl/GVm7Ct ) reports that the teen had been scheduled to go on trial in March.
