MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) says a 2-month-old has died after she was admitted into the hospital for injuries to her head and body.
GBI says that they were requested by the Moultrie Police Department to assist with an investigation involving injuries to a 2-month-old infant.
The child was originally admitted to Colquitt Regional Medical Center before being transported to Navicent Medical Center in Macon.
However, the 2-month-old died from her injuries on Sunday.
GBI says an autopsy, performed at the GBI Crime Lab in Macon, found blunt force trauma to her head and body.
On Monday, Cedric Deshawn Martin, Jr, 17, was arrested and charged with felony murder and cruelty to children in the first degree.
Authorities say Cedric Martin is the child's father.
The investigation is still active.
