COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) - The Georgia State Patrol was called to an accident Friday morning in Colquitt County.
According to officials, a 17-year-old girl, who has been identified as Meleah Scarberry, was driving on Sam Sells Road when she ran off the roadway just after 10 a.m.
Troopers said she over-corrected and the car rotated and she hit a John Deere tractor.
She died on the scene.
The driver of the tractor was transported to Colquitt Regional for a cut on the back of his head.
He is in stable condition.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
