PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle teen has been convicted of killing a man by kicking him in the face.

A Bay County jury found 19-year-old Chad Earl Mercer II guilty Wednesday of manslaughter and aggravated battery. He faces up to 20 years in prison at his Oct. 5 sentencing.

Authorities say 48-year-old Jackie McClendon, his 27-year-old son and another man went uninvited last fall to a Callaway field party, which was attended mostly by teenagers. The Panama City News Herald reports that a group of partiers confronted the older men, which led to a fight.

Witnesses testified that McClendon was on the ground when Mercer kicked him in the face like he was kicking a football.
