TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A teenager has turned himself into Leon County deputies Tuesday, in connection with a lewd and lascivious battery that happened Monday afternoon on the campus of Rickards High School.
Dakyhia Anderson is facing one count of lewd and lascivious battery.
Deputies say Monday, the sheriff's office learned from the victim, who is underage, that a sexual battery occurred on campus at the end of the school day.
Detectives, along with the Child Protection Team and Leon County Schools, investigated the incident. They were then able to develop probable cause to arrest the 18 year old.
He turned himself into the sheriff's office Tuesday.
Leon County Schools has confirmed that Anderson is a student. They have released the following statement:
Leon County Schools was notified earlier today by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office of an arrest made in regards to a lewd and lascivious battery investigation stemming from an incident involving two Rickards’ High School students. The investigation is being led by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. LCS will offer any and all assistance possible. As the matter involves a minor whose privacy is protected, no further comments or information will be made available by LCS at this time.
