TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The Tallahassee teacher found guilty of not reporting the sexual abuse of one of her students was sentenced Wednesday.

Sunshine Jacobs was sentenced to 2 years of probation, 250 hours of community service, and no jail time.

Jacobs was teaching at the Magnolia School when she was arrested in March along with two other teachers, Sharon McQueen and Kathleen McGlynn.

Police say a female student told Jacobs she was being sexually abused and instead of reporting the abuse to authorities as required by law, she and the other teachers developed a "safety plan."

The plan is said to have involved the student, her mother and the accused abuser, Jack Arons. Arons was arrested for the suspected abuse in April.

McGlynn was sentenced to 3 years of probation in November in addition to 200 hours of community service. McQueen plead not guilty in May and her next case management is scheduled for February.
