TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Taylor County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a scam where a suspect is identifying himself as a deputy.
According to TCSO, residents have reported receiving calls from a suspect who identified himself as a deputy with TCSO.
Deputies said the caller told residents a warrant for their arrest had been issued and money was required to avoid jail.
Deputies state they will never call and ask anyone to send money. They say to contact their office to verify any suspicious call at 850-584-4225 or 850-584-2429.
TCSO says never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your:
• name,
• date of birth,
• bank account,
• credit card, or
• Social Security number
