TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -Tallahassee Community College is focusing on improving student success through a recent classroom project.
A 2.5 million project known as the "First Class" project, calls for renovations to 50 classrooms. So far, 20 have been completed.
Upgraded classrooms now have new furniture, lighting, full-length white boards, interactive smart boards and more.
Executive Director of the Tallahassee Community College Foundation expressed the importance of integrating technology into classrooms.
"I think we are going to see way more of that integrated moving forward. So having that in our classrooms and showcasing to students that we understand what that looks like and we would like to help students understand that this is a teaching tool to help move their education forward. I think its a good thing," said Heather Mitchell.
In a addition to the renovations, TCC has committed to reducing class sizes to help improve academic performance.
