TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Tallahassee Community College held a dedication ceremony for its newly renamed science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) center Thursday morning.
The STEM center was renamed in honor of TCC administrator Lei Wang. The event began with speeches, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of a facility, which has recently been renovated.
According to Demetrius Rice, coordinator of the STEM Center, the renovation includes the addition of two study rooms equipped with 65” interactive touchscreen displays that will facilitate collaborative work among students.
Another room has been equipped with a video conferencing system that will allow students to participate in discussions with peers at other colleges and universities.
“TCC is a national leader in student success. I hope the College will become a national leader in STEM education as well,” said Wang, who is TCC’s associate vice president for institutional effectiveness.
