TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - If you're interested in earning more money, Tallahassee says they have you covered.

WTXL ACT's Jada Williams was live at Tallahassee Community College on Thursday morning to tell how the college is helping people make a career change and get more money.

Tallahassee Community College is hosting what the Paycheck Party. The purpose is to help people create a path to higher paying jobs.

You don't have to be a student to attend.

Everyone in attendance will meet with campus representatives to learn more about the workforce programs that TCC has to offer, a program that is completely different from your current career path or one that'll help you climb the ladder at work.

These programs include industries such as Information Technology, Construction and Entrepreneurship and can be completed in less than a year.

Kim Moore, a TCC Workforce Innovation Vice President, said that "We have a number of short term, I call it 'career changers,' because often times you're in jobs, you're working check to check.

"But how would you look at it if you were getting a career? A career that allows you to take care of your family, pay your bills, well that's a paycheck party because we're getting to the bottom line. We want to change those numbers."

Attendees will also learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities, including a drawing for prizes that includes two $500 scholarships to attend TCC.

It starts at 4 p.m. Thursday at Workforce Development Grand Ballroom on campus.
