TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Community College hosted an event today about dangers of distracted driving.
It's in honor of "Distracted Driving Awareness Month".
According to "Triple A", more than 16 percent of accidents in the U.S. are caused by distracted driving, adding up to about 5,000 fatal crashes a year.
Organizers say Thursday's event was about drawing attention to those statistics, and giving students a chance to practice communication skills.
The event today featured guest speakers, simulations, and vendors.
