TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A program at Tallahassee Community College is helping veterans become entrepreneurs.
WTXL ABC 27's Jada Williams was live Wednesday morning to tell about the course designed to help veterans.
TCC's Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program, more commonly known as TCC Ignite program, moves quickly.
Instead of taking multiple classes throughout a few years like college, it trains veterans in a nine-week intensive program.
Using the nationally recognized Lean Startup Method for entrepreneurship education, it features an online module designed to learn at your own pace.
The program is offered twice a year and includes mentorship and networking opportunities to help build a community for veterans interested in the business world.
To get involved, it only costs $250.
Kim Moore is vice president for Workforce Development.
"It's an amazing feeling to serve those that have served us all," Moore said. "So when thinking about veterans, we realize that the number of veterans who return are actually the largest group of people who actually start businesses. To know that we are having an opportunity to impact them locally is absolutely one of my favorite things to do."
The first day of the program is Wednesday, but it not too late to join.
Any interested veterans can reach out to TCC.
