TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - April is 'Sexual Assault Awareness Month' and TCC is recognizing it by creating a new victims' advocate position.
Michelle Tibbits-McClellan is now serving as the victim advocate at TCC and has over 10 years of experience advocating for victims of all kinds.
Right now the program is still new, so faculty are trying to spread the word.
"I believe it's important that there is a victim advocate available to represent, or to be there for the students of an educational institute," said McClellan.
She also adds that she hopes this month will give victims strength to come forward.
