PERRY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Perry based bank will merge with a credit union based in Jacksonville to bring new financial services to Taylor County.
Citizens State Bank is headquartered in Perry and has locations in Steinhatchee and Gainesville.
Last Week, VyStar Credit Union announced it signed an agreement to acquire Citizens State Bank with over $280 million in assets.
Once the deal is finalized, VyStar will have 69 branches in total.
The president and CEO of Citizens State Bank issued this statement, in part saying:
"We are proud of CSB's 61 years of quality service, and we are happy to have found a financially strong partner such as VyStar. This exciting combination will continue to support and expand our highly personalized service and commercial lending focus."
VyStar said it expects the transaction to close by mid-year.
