TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Florida TaxWatch says increasing investment in the state's tourism industry is having a direct impact on job creation.
According to the research from the independent, nonprofit research institute, for every 85 visitors to the state, one new job is created in the tourism sector. They add, however, only half of the jobs created thanks to investment in tourism are actually in the tourism sector.
The other half are in non-tourism industry jobs like administrative services, transportation and health care, which helps balance job creation and diversify the state economy.
