TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A proposal to make it tougher for future state lawmakers to raise taxes narrowly cleared the Senate.
The measure will now be put on the November ballot.
If approved, the measure would require two-thirds votes in the House and Senate - instead of the usual majority vote - to raise taxes or fees in the future.
Other amendments on the Novmeber ballot include a proposal to restore voting rights for most felons and a another to give homeowners a larger property-tax break.
