TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--The president of Valdosta State University is calling for a task force to decide the future of the Student Affairs Division.

The college is now in a transition phase after a meeting Thursday morning between president William McKinney and Russell Mast, the now former Vice President for Student Sffairs.

President McKinney's Chief of Staff Kimberly Luse couldn't provide details about the meeting but said the result was Mast "separating" from the university.

The president has charged a task force made up of 12 people representing students, faculty, and staff with finding a model that best fits Valdosta State University, when it comes to student affairs.

The task force is meeting Wednesday morning. Members of the group will present their findings within 30 days.

VSU Provost and Academic Affairs Vice President Hudson P. Rogers is now the acting Vice President for Student Affairs.
