TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A Tallahassee group is getting ready to start performing at the Centre of Tallahassee.
The Tallahassee World Ballet announced this week they have signed a multi-year partnership with the former Tallahassee Mall.
Henry Hernandez, the Artist Director, says in a letter to company members that the organization has been looking for a permanent home for their performances* for a while.
"Moving into this new venue will be a great leap forward for the company, allowing us to significantly expand our future seasons," explains Hernandez.
Several businesses that formerly called the Tallahassee Mall home are planning to stay including Belk, Guitar Center, Barnes and Noble, and the AMC theater.
In June, the mall's owner, Blackwater Resources, told WTXL that the mall was 72% leased and that they were not planning on announcing new tenants before then tenants made the announcements themselves.
*In a previous version of this story, it was reported that the World Ballet is moving their business to the Centre of Tallahassee. Since then, the Ballet has clarified that they will only be using the space as a location to host their performances.
