TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee woman has been arrested, accused of using her disabled mother's Social Security funds for her own personal use.

Eboni Henderson is being charged with one count of exploitation of a disabled adult, $10,000 or less.

According to a complaint filed by an investigator with the Florida Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, Henderson paid her bills, bought TVs and a van using her mother's social security and retirement checks.

Documents say that the nursing home where the victim resided filed a complaint that Henderson had not paid them since November 2016, though bank records showed that Henderson had been receiving her mother's checks.

An investigation revealed that from November 1st, 2016 to July 31st, 2017, Henderson had full control of her mother's money.

The investigator wrote that she even admitted to using the money for her own personal use, stating "she takes full responsibility for the months of May and June."

However, Henderson told the investigator she didn't believe she was responsible for November, December or January because the facility never told her that she was responsible for paying them.

An admission agreement between the victim and the facility says otherwise, according to the complaint. It says Henderson signed herself as the "responsible party," making her contractually responsible for the payments to the center.

Henderson was taken into custody on Wednesday.
