TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A 27-year-old woman has been arrested after a victim found her stealing from her cars.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office says Marley Swormstedt was arrested on Saturday.

According to a probable cause document, the victim spotted Swormstedt coming out of her 2006 white Ford Fusion parked in front of her home. When Swormstedt tried to run away, the victim and her boyfriend caught her and detained her until LCSO arrived.

The document says Swormstedt told deputies that she had gone into the Ford and took the victim's purse from the car. Inside the purse, Swormstedt said she found several bottles of prescription pills, one of which was Percocet, as well as credit cards.

Taking the purse, Swormstedt hid it at her house.

When she came back, she went into the victim's 2004 Honda CRV. She told deputies that though she went through the glove box, she did not take anything.

When Swormstedt went back to look for more stuff in the Ford, she was caught by the victim and her boyfriend.

The document says that both cars were unlocked at the time.

After talking with her, LSCO took Swormstedt back home to get the stolen property.

She gave back the victim's purse and wallet but deputies say that the prescription pills and five credit cards were gone.

Once Swormstedt was transported to the Leon County Jail, deputies found a small, white pill, which they determined to be Xanax, tucked into her shorts.

Swormstedt is now being charged with two counts of burglary, grand theft of controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

She is being held in jail on a $18,500 bond. She has plead not guilty
