TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee woman is now in custody after police say she exploited her own mother.
Laura Cooper was arrested after investigators say took her mom Delores Caracci's money and assets for her own. Police say she made misrepresentations to become her mother's guardian so she could be in control of her finances.
Caracci is now under the care of a new guardian who can assist in her legal matters.
Cooper is charged with exploitation of an elderly person and perjury. She's being held at the Leon County Jail.
