TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee seniors got a lesson on camping Friday at the Goodwood Museum and Gardens.
The museum hosted Tent Camping 101 Friday morning.
Participants got to learn more about how to camp outdoors.
Topics included tent types, camp supplies, and how to cook outdoors as well as other information on how to get started camping.
"It's fun and at this stage of the game these folks have free time on their hands and wanting to spend more time in our Florida parks which are phenomenal," said Jason Flom with the Conerstone Learning Community. "Big picture it's important for people to connect with nature if we want people to fight for our environment and protect our environment."
Flom has camped his whole life.
The Lifelong Outdoor Pursuits is a program offered by the Tallahassee Senior Center.
