TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee's Animal Service Center hosted a rabies and microchip clinic Tuesday.

Every first Tuesday of every month, the center provides low-cost-vaccinations and microchips to pet owners to make sure that their four-legged-family-member is healthy and safe.

"In Florida, unfortunately that is one of the risks of living, foxes, bats, skunks, raccoons, they all carry rabies and its spread through saliva so if your dog or cat ever goes outside, there's a chance they may encounter one of these animals and a chance they may get into a scuffle and be exposed and you certainly don't want that," said Michael St. John, the assistant director of Tallahassee's Animal Service Center.

The center will not have a rabies and micro-chip clinic in January, but will in February.
