TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Residents on the Southside of Tallahassee are developing ideas to "rebrand" the area.

They have already identified what the community needs the most. Now they're ready to see the Southside of town grow.

The group is targetting four areas: economic impact, public safety, beautification, and land use.

The ideas they have in store for areas such as the Greater Bond Community include adding more to the neighborhood park, putting in resources that'll help educate and train residents of all ages, and bring more businesses into the community.

Many of those involved say the community means a lot to them.

"It's easy to be passionate about this community because we've been here," said Developer Rhett Turnquest. "My DNA is here and it's really easy to bring this community back to its original exuberance."

The Greater Bond area has also seen changes already.

Some of the corners known for drug sales and other illegal acts have been cleaned up.

They say its all thanks to things such as cameras installed by the Tallahassee Police Department and community policing.
