TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A welcome to Tallahassee, all in honor of World Refugee Day.
Refugees that settled in the Capital City over the past year were honored with this celebration Tuesday morning at the Adult & Community Education School.
Along with musical performances specific to their native countries, each refugee spoke on what it means to now call Tallahassee home.
"Well, we hope that it makes them feel welcome and appreciated we want them to know that we care about them we are invested in their success," said Elizabeth Daniels with ACE Leon.
Tuesday's event ended with a meal comprised of dishes from each refugee's native country.
