TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - In Tallahassee, the American Red Cross, Capital Chapter is sending people to help with relief efforts as well as taking up donations.
Days after Hurricane Harvey ripped through Texas leaving behind widespread devastation, the American Red Cross is now preparing to provide aide.
The Red Cross Capital Chapter is getting supplies and volunteers ready to help those impacted.
While donating food, water and clothing is appreciated, organizers say there is a more efficient way to donate.
"The best thing people can do is to give financially," explained Sharon Tyler.
"We actually use the money in order to order bulk supplies in Texas and Louisiana, so it's easier for the people there on the ground to know exactly what is needed and to be able to use the financial donations in order to be able to order it."
