TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Today marks 100 years since the Tallahassee Red Cross chapter received their congressional charter.
Right now, the chapter serves 12 counties in the central Panhandle.
Organizers today talking about the impact Red Cross has had on the community, and highlighting some of the former board members that have helped them to get to where they are.
They say the legacy of these board members live on either through their descendants or in the forms of buildings around the city.
Organizers say that it was back in 1987 when they began to service the other 7 counties that follow the Big Bend's footprint.
