TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It seems that more and more people these days are becoming entrepreneurs and starting their own small businesses selling anything from artwork, to beauty products, and hand crafted jewelry.
Of course, being a small business owner isn't easy, especially when it comes to finding a costumer base.
That's where pop-ups like the "Tallahassee Pop-Up Market" come into play.
This market began last holiday season, but has brought small businesses owners and entrepreneurs together as a way to connect and meet with their costumers face to face. With department stores and online retailers like Amazon, it can be very difficult for these small businesses to compete.
"For us, it's a great way to keep more money in our own businesses, especially since a lot of us do primarily wholesale and thrive on just seasonal pop-ups," said Megan Connelley, the event organizer and founder of Sea and Stone Jewelry.
The pop-up-market will continue through Saturday afternoon at The Old Shop on Automotive Way, just off of Capital Circle Northeast.
Another pop-up market is expected to return in December, just in time for the holiday season.
