TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Tallahassee police are reaching out to the community over a cup of coffee as part of an effort to foster trust between the community and local law enforcement.

The Coffee with a Cop will place at the McDonald's on Thomasville Road from 7 a.m. to 9a.m. and McDonald's on Monroe Street from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 7th to celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day.

The event is relatively new and gives community members the opportunity to meet with their law enforcement to share their concerns in a neutral and non-threatening environment.

All event attendees will also receive a free small cup of McDonald's coffee.
