TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Tallahassee Police say they're investigating three shootings from Saturday, and they may be related.
Just after 8 p.m., officers responded to the area of Dewey and Preston Streets, where they say a man was shot. Police found 22-year-old D’Juante Tucker lying in the roadway, and emergency personnel tried to perform first aid on him, but officers say he died on the scene.
Then, 30 minutes later, officers were called to 831 Putnam Drive, regarding another shooting. Officers discovered that five people were outside the home when a black sedan approaching them and a black male in the passenger's side started firing shots at the people, using, what officers say, was an assault-type rifle. Police say the car fled the area, and there were no reported injuries.
Less than two hours after that shooting, around 10:08 p.m., Tallahassee Police responded to the 4200 block of Ridge Haven Road to reports of multiple victims of gunshot wounds. At the scene, officers found a 14 year old shot in the hand and 16 year old shot in the leg. Police say the two were treated for their injuries and are expected to recover.
Investigators say preliminary information shows these three shootings may be connected and "may possibly have a gang nexus." All three investigations are ongoing, and Tallahassee Police ask if you have any information about these shootings to call 850-891-4200 or if you wish to remain anonymous, please call CrimeStoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
