TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Police have arrested a man they say came into a store with a sword, demanding a beer.

The Tallahassee Police Department says that they were called to the Time Saver convenience store on Thursday about a robbery.

They said that officer were patrolling the area and heard the sounds of someone yelling near the Time Saver 519 West Brevard Street.

The officer saw a man backing out of the front door of the business, pointing his finger toward the store, then throwing an object inside the store.

The suspect then started to run away when he saw the officer. The saw the suspicious activity and quickly detained the suspect after the store owner yelled “stop him”.

An investigation revealed that the suspect entered the business holding a sword upright at the owner, demanding a beer. Police say the store owner was able to defend himself with a broom handle.

Officers were able to find the weapon inside the store, which was a metal sword around two feet long.

The suspect, Reginald Lide, 47, was arrested for robbery with a weapon and transported to the Leon County Jail.
