TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL)- The Apalachee Center recognized law enforcement professionals during "National Police Week" Friday, with a graduation luncheon for law enforcement officers taking part in the Crisis Intervention Training hosted at the Apalachee center.

CIT in Tallahassee is sponsored through the collaboration of TPD, the Office of Court Administration 2nd Judicial Circuit, Apalachee Center, NAMI Tallhassee, Magellan Health Care, and many volunteers throughout the community.

Over the past ten years, nearly 500 officers and police dispatchers throughout Leon and the surrounding counties have been trained and certified through the 40 hour course designed to enhance officer training and understanding of psychiatric and mental health emergency situations
