Posted

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Tallahassee Police Department wants to remind residents to “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”

Tuesday, police will host a safety and sobriety checkpoint from 9:00p.m. to 10:30p.m. in the 1100 block of Thomasville Road.

Officers with the Leon County DUI Strike Force will also patrol throughout other parts of the city to find impaired drivers.

Police say DUI checkpoints are devised to save lives.

The Police Department says the checkpoint will be well marked with signs, marked patrol vehicles, and uniformed officers. They say the operation is designed to have a minimal impact on traffic flow.
