TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) -- The Tallahassee Police Department held an event to help out school kids Saturday at the Target on Apalachee Parkway.

The event, Pack the Patrol Car, asked residents to bring school supplies for students in need in the Leon County area. The event was in collaboration with the Tallahassee Fire Department, the National Organization for Black Law Enforcement, and the Tallahassee Kiwanis Club.

The Tallahassee Kiwanis Club also provided parents with identification kits for their children. These kits included their child's fingerprints, photo, and any other item they had that could provide their child's DNA just in case of an emergency.

TPD and the Tallahassee Kiwanis Club will be at the Target on Apalachee Parkway again Sunday from 9am to 2pm.
