TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Trinity United Presbyterian Church pastor Lee Johnson and his wife arrived in Charleston, South Carolina Thursday morning to attend the funeral service of Sharonda Singleton, one of the nine victims of last week's fatal shooting at Emanuel AME Church.

Also attending Singleton's funeral at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church were Charleston Mayor Joseph Riley, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Reverend Al Sharpton and Reverend Jesse Jackson, said Johnson, who added the service was "very moving."

Johnson said they shared brief speeches at the service, which focused on Singleton's life, rather than the growing national discussions about racism, violence and the Confederate flag. As he put it, "everything was placed on pause."

Johnson will be attending the funeral service for Emanuel AME pastor and State Senator Clementa Pinckney Friday, where President Obama will deliver the eulogy.
