TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee has reported a 600 gallon wastewater leak near Wallis Street.
Officials said that a backup caused by sand and grease in a sewer main caused approximately 600 gallons of wastewater to overflow into a ditch near 517 Wallis Street.
The blockage was cleared, which stopped the overflow.
They said that crews cleaned and disinfected the area and that water quality samples were being taken.
In an abundance of caution, the public should avoid stormwater ditches in the area.
