TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A bicycling magazine has ranked Tallahassee No. 38 out of 50 when it comes to bike friendly cities.
The Bicycling Magazine announcement came after the city has put in work to make protected bike lanes all around the city. City Commissioner Nancy Miller was excited about the ranking, especially to be among some larger cities.
She said that more improvements are on the way from the Blueprint Initiative that was passed in 2014.
"You'll see a real network to expand all of the parks in town. We are blessed to have a lot of large urban parks and the vision that was included in that list is to connect those parks and really make a network riding all through town," said Commissioner Miller.
With these improvements coming down the pipeline, the city said it hoped to improve its ranking even more.
